One of the top questions I get as a Travel Agent specializing in Disney vacations is, “When is the best time to go to WDW?”
My answer every time is that with every season, Disney World is completely different, so in my opinion the best time is really up to you and what you like. There’s something new from month to month, a new event, a ride opening, a holiday party, a special dining experience, etc.. So I thought it might be helpful to give you an idea of what every season of the year has to offer!
With Spring right around the corner, well here’s hoping that’s the case up here in the Northeast, let’s start there!
Spring arrives pretty early in Walt Disney World with the kick off of Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival. We’re talking early March and Spring has sprung at Cinderella’s Castle. Thermostats are usually reading warm temperatures, minus the summer humidity and flower are in full bloom! It’s probably my favorite season to visit Disney World!
The superstar of this season for me is the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. Epcot alone is easily in my top two parks on property but when you dress it up in fancy topiaries, adding living music, new food and wine booths everywhere, and family friendly fun and include it all with normal park admission, my heart literally skips a beat!
Have you ever seen larger than life floral topiaries of Mickey, Minnie, Snow White, 7 Dwarves, Bambi, and so many more Disney friends??? Hours are spent putting together these masterpieces and to see what Disney’s brilliant imagineers can do with flowers is amazing! Even more amazing is the butterfly exhibit and musical playground. My family and I could walk through the butterfly exhibit over and over and it wouldn’t ever get old, it’s just that beautiful. And my girls love anything where they can be active, so a playground in Disney World, that’s a winner! Plus there are outdoor instruments that your mini musicians can try their hand at, in between climbing and sliding that is. But one of our favorite festival features are the food and wine booths and concert series. Our inner foodies definitely come out as we use our dining plan to taste and sip our way around the world while listening to some of our favorite bands. It’s a foodie’s dream!!
And if you happen to vacation to WDW during the month of Easter you’re in luck because they have some festive fun in store for you! Hollywood & Vine, one of our favorite character meals, is known to be Mickey’s favorite place to get dolled up during every holiday and Easter is no different. You can catch Mickey and all of his friends in their Easter outfits, think pastel suits and Easter bonnets!!! And if you happen to actually be staying at WDW over Easter, make sure your kids stretch before they start hunting eggs, because Disney has plenty of hunts in store for them! Not to mention the special Easter parade walking down main Street USA in Magic Kingdom and the meet & greet with the Easter Bunny himself. No better way to add magic to your Easter than celebrating it in Walt Disney World!
We’re just weeks away from the kick off of this year’s Spring season and it’s not too late for you to get in on the action! We’ve actually got a little Disney surprise in store for our princesses, ah!!! I’m not a good one for keeping these kinds of things a secret so my husband has really been keeping me in check, but oh my gosh is it hard. Especially when your three year old looks at you and asks if we can go to Disney World today. Soon baby girl, very soon we’ll be going to see Mickey during our favorite season of all!!! Cheers to a Spring filled with Disney magic!!!
